- 10-11-2008 Password now required for entering our
L-II Forum: Due to a barrage of bot
spammers, Taskforce has instituted a password system, but since he came up with a really difficult word, we will
need to give everyone a hint. It's (L*****-II) without the parenthesis. Just substitute lower case letters for the stars.
(Another clue: What's our favorite game at the moment!? Bongo` reports that his work on the release package should resume
today. [Report by Wildbill]
- 10-09-2008 More good Lennus-II news, possible walkthrough writer responds: I have contacted
the author of a walkthrough for Paladin's Quest, telling him about our imminent release, as well as our desire to see a
fellow PQ fan write a comprehensive guide for Lennus-II. He has indicated that he might just do that, once he has the
opportunity to play through the game a few times. I don't want to put him on the hook, so I won't mention his name,
but if he wishes to come forward and post on our
L-II Forum, he is certainly welcome. Work on
the release package is continuing... [Report by Wildbill]
- 10-07-2008 Lennus-II Forum active: We have established this feature to support the upcoming
release of our L-II English patch. This BBS may he accessed either via the "Forum" button on this page,
or here. At this time, we are not requiring passwords, hoping
everyone will help us maintain decorum. Also, the splash page has been loaded into our patch successfully. Release is
pending and still scheduled before the end of October. [Report by Wildbill]
- 10-05-2008 Lennus-II status: We are continuing to work on final details, specifically, a
splash page that will load correctly, as well as a dedicated Lennus-II BBS for communications between L-II team members and
the game-playing public. We anticipate having everything completed during this present month of October. [Report by Wildbill]
- 10-01-2008 To DoaE-II team members who happen to drop by, I just received this feedback from
a member of the DoaE-II gaming community: [T]hank you so much ... for ... bringing Destiny of an Emperor
II to the English community. The Destiny of an Emperor series still has a cult following of sorts--it makes some sense, it is
just a damn good series--so having the second around to play is just awesome. Your work will always be appreciated. :)

- 10-01-2008 Destiny of an Emperor-II Update: I was surprised to discover that our early 2000s
release still enjoys an impressive audience as we approach the year 2010. People in various gaming domains (such as kongming.net)
have dedicated entire DoaE-II sections and
message boards to our project. In addition,
updated FAQ/Walks-through and a multitude of
new documents have been published on subjects such as DoaE-II "secrets" that
even we never discovered! If anyone participating in these efforts happens to visit here, we thank you. The amount of work you
have put into organizing DoaE-II facts and data is simply amazing! Hopefully, we can give you a new Ro3K game in English someday,
in the form of DoaE-II GB(e)! [Report by Wildbill]
- 09-28-2008 Lennus-IIe beta testing is completed. The Lennus-II team (Draken, Bongo`, Taskforce,
and Wildbill) is making final preparations for release, exact date unknown. Lennus-IIe (reborn) is now a joint project of Magic
Destiny and Stealth Translations (both members of the
heretofore moribund Confederated Translation
Company), the only "active groups" remaining *chuckle*. Nevertheless, Lennus-II will serve as one of the greatest
testimonials to the original CTC concept, a locus that was more concerned with unbridled enjoyment than nitpicking forum
rules and showering people's lack of esoteric knowledge with unabated sarcasm.
Ten years in the making, Lennus-II(e) represents the culmination of high-level amity between fun-loving spirits, and its release
will be announced both here and at Stealth. For anyone who was anxious to play Lennus-IIe last summer, the delay is due to an
exhaustive effort to finish and polish the English story line. We also took this opportunity to refine and standardize the naming
conventions, and generally tidy up the whole package. All of this has been accomplished. Just a few pre-release details remain,
as soon as we have the leisure to address them. Please stand by for further information...

- 05-19-08 Well, after some discussion and a six year hiatus, we are talking about getting work going on some
projects again. Hourai will be the first project to get back on track. Some of the other projects will be cancelled
and have their webpages removed soon. Not all of the projects that other groups have assumed work on will be cancelled though.
Look forward to actually seeing our group coming back to life soon.
- 05-19-08 Translation Corporation has produced and
released a 100% patch for Wozz. Well done! We have updated our
Wozz page to reflect this feat and close
the book on yet another Super Famicom RPG we all hoped to play in English. [Report by Wildbill]
- 05-18-08 Wildbill here.... Can anyone believe Taskforce and I haven't communicated in almost four years?
Well, we have good news regarding Lennus-II. A few months ago Bongo` and Draken resumed work on the project.
Unfortunately, Taskforce and I were unable to rejoin the effort at that time, but Draken has kept us updated,
and we are happy to report that Lennus-II is nearing completion. I, Wildbill, have played a beta version from
start to finish, and must say that Bongo` and Draken have done outstanding work ironing out the snags we hit
four years ago and meshing the original work with the finishing touches. Yes, the guys have polished the game
to near-perfection, and I will post a few screen shots soon.
- 06-01-04 Well, as most of you may already know, Necrosaro released a work in progress patch for Torniko a few days ago. I completely support
the release of the patch and have now posted it here for your pleasure. Go grab yourself a copy of 0.99 Beta now (but keep in mind that there are still
plans for a 1.0 final and that what you see may not be exactly what you get in 1.00). As I'm pretty sure unlike Necro said there was still quite a bit of
editing left to be done to the script. Either way its out now and I don't mind at all.
Now for the question you have all been asking. Where are we. What happened. Are we dead?
The answer is actually a yes and a no. Yes we are dead in the fact that nothing has been happening on
any of our projects in quite a while. No in the fact that we have abandoned them. If and when we actually jump ship I promise you that all resources
we have for our projects will be made public and it will be announced here. Unfortunately, I cannot say when XXX project will be worked on again or released.
Real Life happened for everyone at Magic-Destiny. And it has left little time for any of use to do anything hobby related. Its just that way sometimes. But we
haven't given up. You will see all of our currently ongoing projects released someday if we can work it out at all. I'm sorry I can't offer you better news than that.
But in the meantime I hope you enjoy Torniko 0.99
Also, as a final note. I would love to release work in progress versions of some of our other projects but I'm afraid none of them are in a state where thats
remotely possible. Sorry.
- 07-03-03: Well, its been nearly a year without an update and unfortunately I still don't have anything earth shattering to say more than we
aren't dead. And that projects are moving its just at a snails pace. We are getting older and real life has taken over for all of us at M-D but
don't you worry. We haven't went anywhere. The group isn't dead and all projects that are open will remain so until we state otherwise. I'm hoping
that soon we will have time to really get cracking and get you guys something new to play. We have planty of completed translations that are just awating
hacking, editing and other things. So, keep on the lookout because I'm gonna start putting in a real effert to get some of this off the back burner and get
it out LONG before another year passes. And to our fans, sorry there isn't more to report but thanks for sticking with us.
- 07-31-02: Hide that engine, the Lady is coming for you. That's right, I've picked up another project. One I have wanted to do for so
long now. What is this project, none other than Lady Stalker: The Apocalypse Engine. If you liked Landstalker (you should go check your pulse
if you didn't), than this one is going to be for you. Developed by Climax software (the same team behind Landstalker and mostly the same team
even behind Alundra of Matrix software). This is one NICE action RPG. It sports some TERRIFIC graphics. Great gameplay and hopefully an outstanding
story. I'm just glad I actually get to work on this one. Thanks goes to Bongo` for giving me a hand in finding the text and font routines of the game.
I'm not quite skilled enough yet at assembly to locate things in a fast manner (sometimes not at all). And since I had no experience with finding text or graphics
routines yet. It would probably be not at all before this game and Bongo`'s help hehe. Many thanks Bongo`. You know how much I wanted to do this and you helped me out and you deserve
like money or something but since I'm always broke, my thanks will have to do hehe.
- 07-25-02: Welcome to our new home. We are now hosted by emuxhaven. Mucho thanks to
them for giving us some webspace to call home again. And thanks to Weyland-Yutani for hosting us for as long as they did. With
the new host comes a new URL, which you already know if you're here. That URL is http://www.magic-destiny.com.
- 07-03-02: You'll have to excuse me if some of this is incohearent. Just lost a dog I've had for 13 years
and I'm not too at myself. But I need to do something to take my mind off of it. First some news, then some screens
and then more news.
First off: Huge Enormous Gigantic thanks to Laxidman for doing a (de/re)compressor for the stuff that was compressed in hourai.
Without this, this hack wouldn't be nearly as cool as it is going to be now. Let me tell ya. So, please go visit his page in support
at Laxidman's Translation Page. So what exactly was compressed in this game if it wasn't font or text you ask. Well, all other sprites pretty much
for one. A lot of data tables we need to alter for another. And probably even more that I haen't discovered yet. This is a very good compression
system for graphics. Not good for text. Hince it wasn't compressed because appearently they didn't want to make 2 systems. How about a
screen of a compressed graphic that has been altered for our pleasure. Note that this probably isn't the final version. It might be though. Who knows.
These pictures also shows my rearrangement and expansion of menu boxes. This however isn't finalized either.
Before and after comparisons of what we thought we might have to use and how its coming along now.

The HP/GP was compressed as well as the big Kanji there that means ABSENT. Without a compression/decompression program. That would have had to stay
in the english version and that wouldn't have been as nice. Thank you again Laxidman. You deserve it as this was one tough nut to crack, believe me.
I have also been learning SNES asm and am working on 2 hacks of my own. One is the ability to use 8 letter names instead of 5 letter. That should make
a lot of you happy. The other is item name expansion. Believe me, these were not good hacks for a beginner to attempt and I'm having more than my fare share
of problems. Therefore, I cannot guarentee that they'll work out in the end. But I'm going to show shots of them anyway as even if they don't. I'm pouring
a lot of work into them none-the-less. The item hack is getting really far along. But its given me lots of surprises believe me. And they aren't going to be
stopping. The name hack is barely started. So I have nothing to show of it. Here though for your pleasere is a before and after item buy screen. Pray that we
get to keep this in the final version. It will not be the same with 8 letter item names. Trust me.
One more thing before the pics. Laxidman has been my teacher and helped out on all this whenever I asked and however I asked. So he deserves just as much credit
on these as I do. Believe me. He has been extremely helpful to me and I appreciate it so much.

You'll also notice with that screen not all text is in english yet. But its getting there. Some of this is not stored in sane ways. It takes a lot of time to deal
with it when it isn't.
Finally, Wildbill has been hard at work editing this game. Here is an animated GIF of work in progress shots from him showing some now edited dialog.
As you can see its looking mighty nice. Wildbill is doing a superb job IMHO and even I can't wait to play the final product.
In other news. I neglected to mention Mystic Arc in the last update. As well as a few other projects. Anything I didn't mention is in translation or if the translation
is finished, it is on hold while we finish Hourai. Mystic Arc is important because I need to announce that I have taken over the cheif hacking job on this project. This
does mean 2 things. 1. Its not without support on the hacking end anymore (even though we have had offers, Wildbill felt I was the best choice in the end). 2. It will
actually delay it even more because my plate was already full. For this I apologize, however no matter who did it, this game isn't getting done fast. It has hacking issues
like you wouldn't believe. As bad as if it were compressed. But it will get done. It just takes time. Please don't e-mail complaining. We only have so much free time in
a day. If anyone wishes it to be done faster, they are free to attempt it themselves but don't look at us to share resources because our project isn't dead. Sorry, I had to
throw that in there. It isn't directed at most of you nice folks but a small group that know who they are. We appreciate all our fans, so don't worry. You guys are the greatest.
- 05-20-02: I expect to have my work done on Hourai either this week or next. It will then be handed
off to Wildbill for editing. Also, Lennus is still being worked on at a slow but steady pace. Wildbill
continues to work on the scripts little by little while Bongo' tries and deal with the pesky bugs that are
stopping Wildbill from playtesting. After I get my work done on Horai, I still have plenty to keep me busy.
I need to show my poor translator some progress on Fire Emblem 3. Speaking of which, while I do have a
translator for this project. He is busy right now and could use help with it if anyone out there would like
to chip in and knows japanese fairly well. It would definately help take the full load off of him. If you want to help,
you can contact me at johnnobl@yahoo.com. We also have
DoaE-GB, Ranma #2 GB and Oni GB just setting waiting for progress after Horai. Those should hopefully start making progress
soon as well, assuming the assembly poses no problems.
- 03-24-02: First off, this is mostly a we're not dead message. Anyway, on with what little
news there is. For the last few months, everyone involved with Magic Destiny projects has been
extremely busy. So, in turn or projects have been just sitting on the shelf. We are finally all
starting to get some free time again and with that free time our projects will once again begin to
start moving along.
On the news front. I have finally found an emulator that works with Horai High School as long as
the sound is completely disabled. This isn't really ideal when we get to release but at least it will
allow me to get back to work on the game again. Especially since my copier plug went out and I haven't
had a chance to get a replacement. Lennus II and Horai are the top two priority of the projects on the table.
We'd like to get these out as soon as we can. Thats about all I have for now. Keep looking for news of progress
hopefully very soon.
